The turn out for the 2005 Fishing Rodeo was great for all fishermen in every division. Cheryl Ater, the ladies division winner, took home an excess of $800.00 and not too mention a great stringer during the 2005 tournament. Those in attendance for the Saturday awards dinner enjoyed a great meal provided by the Outback Steakhouse, music by Red Ritch, and a live auction where a kayak was given away. The Fishing Rodeo has successfully attracted more fishermen, sponsors, and great friends every year since our move and will no doubt be one of the top fishing tournaments on the Gulf Coast.

Our new home at Ron Hover was a huge success for 2006. The location offered breathe taking views of the bay and excellent sunsets. Special thanks to the staff of Ron Hover RV and Marine Centers for their gracious hospitality.

In 2007, The Hold 'Em and Hit 'Em Club lost one of our founding presidents and more importantly a great friend. In his honor we have renamed our event in memory of our great friend, "Dirty" Dick Stipanovic.

We look forward to seeing you this year either as an entrant, sponsor, or guest. With your involvement, HHC will be able to continue supporting the education of the many scholarship recipients of the Metro Houston Area and your support will help keep Dirty's dreams alive.

The Fishing Rodeo, originally located in Port O’Connor Texas, was almost canceled in 2004 due to a flesh eating bacteria known as “vibrio.” Out of concern for our fishermen, our only option was to either move the event or cancel it and we chose to move it to Sea Brook, Texas. Since our move to the Galveston Bay area, the Fishing Rodeo has been revitalized by offering Houston and Galveston residents an opportunity to fish in the tournament and to attend the Friday night Captains meeting and the Saturday night Awards Dinner. The 2005 tournament was a great success due in part to our great sponsorships and many of our HHC donors and friends. We are fortunate to have the sponsorships of Ron Hoover Marine Centers and Outback Steakhouse for our 2006 and our 2007 Fishing Rodeo.
